it's the first day of school around here and you know what that means: no more kids hanging out at the library all. day. long... at least, not until after school hours. woo.
doesn't time go by crazy fast? i remember posing each year for my mom in front of my locker or classroom door and now i've been out of school for, uh, a long time. here's my favorite first-day-of-school shot. i was on my way to the third grade, where i would meet, in addition to my college freshman roommate, two of my best friends to this day. also notice the beginnings of a snarky personality and a love for black-and-white striped shirts.

Wow, you looked waaaaay cooler than I did in third day. Waaaaay cooler. I love all of these shots. I love school supplies but have always felt ill around back to school things - even the commercials on TV. Wish I'd liked school more as a kid.

ReplyDeleteOh buddy am I glad I don't have to face the first day of school anymore! We would always have our first day pics taken at the bus stop in front of our house. I remember liking elementary school but I really lost the thrill of first days when it came time for middle & high school. These pictures are so cute. I love the boy in the tie and briefcase holding his lil' lunch box. I bet he grew up to look just like that!
